United's gates at SFO has a children's play area with weather-related exhibits. Most of them were hand on and my boys loved it. It kept them busy for that extra 45 minutes we had to wait till boarding.

SFO's international terminal has weird sculptures to amuse and amaze. There's also some great food just outside security.
