School Philosophy & Day in the Life
School Philosophy and Mission
"Campbell Christian Schools is governed by a Board of Directors under the oversight of the elders of the Campbell Church of Christ, an independent non-denominational church that is committed to 'a non-sectarian concept of God, total dependence on God and His grace, a truth-seeking spirit of open inquiry, a Christ-centered daily life, and a spirit of radiant love for all men, women, and children.'
Campbell Christian School commits to educational excellence in conjunction with biblical values. In the spiritual area, we desire that each child develop a Christian world-view, a love for God and a greater understanding of His attributes as God develops faith in them. In the socio-emotional area, it is the goal of the school to develop a child who realizes who he is and how he relates to authority, family, and peers. In the intellectual area, our philosophy emphasizes an active learning environment where each child is challenged and an enthusiasm for learning is developed. In the physical area, we are committed to teaching skills and teamwork as well as healthy care and appreciation of their bodies."

Director's Comments on Individualized Teaching
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
The teachers at Campbell Christian are genuinely sweet and loving toward the children. They appreciate each child's personality and have a great sense of humor about their quirks. It took very little time for our son to warm up to his teachers, and he really loves them like family.
Parent #2
My boys' teachers at CCS are great. Very caring, energetic teachers.
Parent #3
A false sense of love and care for the children is provided in initial contact that is not displayed in the daily care provided. There is no communication (written or oral) of child development nor a willingness to communication when prompted. Activities are not as advertised--"Nature Walk" is strapping kids into the stroller around the concrete parking lot or teachers sitting watch kids strapped into the stroller with no activities; Water play includes teachers hosing down the concrete walkway while toddlers play in the puddles with just their bare hands. Inadequate facilities results in kids being placed in booster seats directly on the floor in the corner of the room where visibility of and by the children is very limited. There is a complete lack of effort in recognizing and managing individualality of children (i.e. kids that do not naturally join group activities are left alone without supervision and without any engagement or guidance from the teachers). All in all CCS lacks some foundations of child care and development.

Discipline has always been handled well, and communicated with me by notes and talking to the teachers upon pickup. Kids are sent home whenever sick and good communication of posting warnings anytime a more serious illnesses are reported within the school (example: strep throat or pink eye). The gate into the preschool keeps kids securely in the preschool playground area and away from the parking lot, and the handle is out of reach for most kids. Staff members know who comes on campus because anyone entering has to pass in front of the office (and parents are usually warmly greeted when picking up and dropping off kids!). The classrooms have good heating in the winter, and AC in the summer. The outside playground equipment is wonderful- they have 2 new huge play structures, a sand box and lots of grass out front as well a nice playground set up along the side walkway where most of the classes have their front doors.

"Campbell Christian Preschool operates on the same admission schedule as the elementary school. For information about availability, please contact the Preschool Director at (408) 370-4900, ext. 226. If openings are available, you may set up an appointment for a tour. We encourage you to bring your children for the tour-not only do we want to meet them-but you will have the opportunity to see how they like our environment. If there are no openings, you may ask to be placed on our waiting list." Extracted from http://campbellchristian.org
