School Philosophy and Mission
One World Montessori School in Cedar Park, Texas offers age appropriate programs for children aged 18 months to 6 years in our safe, home-like atmosphere. Our school encourages independent, self-directed learning with a focus on Cultural Studies. Above all, we teach children to value peace, respect for others, and pride in individual differences. Our teachers work to foster a love of learning and to educate children to be caring, socially responsible citizens of their community and world.
Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School
Our daily curriculum includes Language Arts (elements of reading, spelling, handwriting and the Spanish language), Mathematics and Geometry, History, Science, Art.and Music.The Montessori materials for development you will see in the classroom are used as tools to enhance these basic skills. The areas of the Montessori curriculum are: Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Science, and Cultural Studies.
Typical Daily Schedule:
8:15--8:30: Children are brought in by their parents
8:30--9:00: Arrival and group lesson
9:00--9:30: "Surprises Room"
9:30--10:00: Playground Time
10:00--11:00: Montessori Work Time
11:00--11:30: Clean up, group discussion and hand washing
11:30--12:00: Lunch time
12:00--12:30: Clean up and dismissal for half day students
12:30--1:15: Outside play for full-time and extended day students
1:15--1:30: Cool down, story time
1:30--3:30: Nap time
3:30: Afternoon snack and dismissal for full time students
