Going to the Acorn is the highlight of my daughter's week - she absolutely loves it. It is a very nurturing environment that fosters creativity and love of learning. The teachers are the best I have seen - very good with the kids. This is a wonderful school, I think the best preschool in the city.

The approach is teaching the children love of learning. The culture is primarily unstructured with the exception of group activities. The children absolutely love the curriculum.

Typically, parent interaction takes place with the two 'main' teachers. The other two teachers are very helpful but are not typically the ones who participate in drop off and pick up (hence the mid range reviews for them).

The information above regarding what learning goals are accomplished by the end of the school year is a guess as we have not completed a full school year yet. The teachers are very perceptive about learning milestones by age and discuss openly whenever the parent inquires.

Communication is very open and encouraged. Parents are encouraged to do whatever they feel is necessary to be comfortable with the school. This school is the best I have seen at parent teacher communication.
