Parents' Comments

I was told by various friends and neighbors that when my child was old enough I should send her to Apple Child Care.
My first contact was phoning and asking info in which the Director was friendly, professional and very helpful, answering all my questions and sending a classroom letter, specific to my child's age and a current monthly newsletter and one past newsletter. I was told that upon receiving the info I should then call back and make an appointment to visit the center and meet the staff and receive a parent handbook.
I actually visited the center, meet with the director and staff.
I was pleased with my first impression... cheerful, clean and very child-oriented. I was invited to attend the Parent Night Open House which was held the first Friday of November, 7-9 p.m.
My mother and I went to the Open House and it was an unexpected good time. Parents and visitors attended, (no children) visited each classroom and made an item that related to the Ohio State Standards to take home and do with their child, enjoyed refreshments and a drawing for prizes.
We didn't want the evening to end....we left that night and I enrolled my child for the following September and have never doubted the care my child / children haeve received through the years.

I have been involved with many of the teachers through the years and have had an excellent rapport with all of them. One teacher was a little quietier and not quite as exuberent but my son enjoyed her and her classroom. I love how every child and parent is greeted upon arrival and departure, willingly giving and receiving hugs and 'thumb kisses'.

There is no prerequsite for volunteering. As a working parent I appreciated that I did not have to be in the classroom or behind the scenes. Photos are taken for all events and classroom activities and posted for our enjoyment and also sent home for us to compile our own photo memories.
The staff has remained almost the same as when I first enrolled my oldest child in 2003 making it a very consistent program with staff I see daily throughout the years. Very impressive when many of the staff have been at this center since it was established in 1985 and there is seldom a change in lead teache rpositions.

Touring the school prior to enrollment and staying in touch with the director until my oldest child could be enrolled.
