School Philosophy and Mission

"The Garden School/Gan Israel Preschool welcomes each child regardless of background, religion or affiliation. We believe each child learns best in an environment that is rich in language and hands on experiences. We provide for the physical, intellectual and emotional growth of the children through activities that are child directed and teacher guided. Children are encouraged to explore, experiment and use their imagination to the fullest. Through the use of centers within the classroom, such as dramatic play, art, science, blocks, math and literacy, children gain readiness skills for future learning. Our staff works closely with each child to help develop a positive self-image through problem solving, encouraging self-expression and offering positive reinforcement. We believe that, based on Torah values, an atmosphere of enthusiasm for learning and a mutual respect between children, parents and teachers, are essential ingredients in early education. "
