Parents' Comments

We have 2 children attending this school. It has been an amazing fit for our children and our family. The staff is well qualified; the Director of the school is passionate about Montessori education. The school spans preschool to middle school, meeting each student where they are. In addition to the normal Montessori curriculum, students benefit from specialized classes in art, music, drama, Spanish and science. Children in the elementary program historically test higher than their grade level on standardized tests. The students are not only engaged in child-initiated learning from a very early age, they quickly become masters of conflict resolution and healthy community engagement. It's an amazing school.

As a Montessori school, the curriculum is an individualized approach to learning. Teachers give a lesson in each of your listed subjects, then allow the student to explore the subject, taking cues from the child as to when more information is needed.

Parents' Comments

In addition to the Montessori cirriculum, both my preschool and elementary girls participate in Art and Spanish classes with specialized teachers. The Lower and Upper Elementary classrooms also benefits from a music, drama and science program. Without exception, each of these teachers is wonderful. Especially wonderful is the art program. The art teacher is truly gifted and seems to be able to inspire even the most reluctant participant.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
As part of the Montessori philosophy, parents are not encouraged to drop into the classroom because the children are learning independance and self reliance. A parent's presence in the classroom counters this effort. We are, however, encouraged to check in with the teacher whenever there is a need. The teachers are wonderful at reporting how the day has gone and communicating any special areas of concern or milestones to be celebrated.
