Excellent School!

Parent #2
I am a very structured mom with discipline, education and play time. My 4 yr old is a bit hyper and this preschool has EXCEEDED my expectations!! They re-direct children when acting up, reinforce kindness to others, and assist them in learning to read and write. Everything is done in a loving and nurturing manner.

Parent #3
This is a great Christian Pre-school with wonderful, Christ-like leaders and staff. This is important to me and my family.

Parent #4
One of the weaknesses is security though they are working on it. It seems that anyone can just walk into the school which makes us a little nervous. There are too many strengths to even begin listing here - the teachers, the cleanliness, the education of the staff and so on - just so many things we love about CCC MDO.

Parent #5
Celebration Preschool is growing along with the church. It has improved so much since my son first began. I am excited to see all the little hearts that are touched by the wonderful teachers and staff at the school.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
The teachers are very unique. Every age is different. My child comes home everyday filling me in about something new he has learned; a song, Spanish, numbers, letters, colors, the weather, his emotions, etc.

Parent #2
It amazes me that the teacher can tell 22 students to sit at their assigned table, and all 22 kids go sit down. The kids listen really well and the teachers make the learning so much fun. It's very hands-on and they follow a curriculum as well. My son learns so much more than I ever hoped for at CCC.

Parent #3
This is pre-school and scientific reasoning isn't taught.

Director's Comments on Individualized Teaching

Individualized Teaching

Description of how teachers work with children who are
"behind," "excelling" or "different" from the majority of students

We have group instruction as well as one-on-one teacher time. Our goals is for children to learn from each other. Our teachers also work individually to meet specific goals.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
Our teachers are so loving. They love my child and they are very dedicated to providing creative ways to learn. They do hands on stuff and eat really neat snacks that are usually correlated with the lesson.

Parent #2
The teachers are awesome in the 3 year old room. They take care of making sure their bags are in the right place and the kids all get signed in and out every day. I love this school; it's such a great fit for my child. He gets to play outside every day, and it's very hands-on and the tasks are age-appropriate in every room.

Director's and Parents' Comments

Director's Comments

We encourage parents to talk about school and the school day. We ask that parents drop their child off, give them a kiss and a hug, share with them they will see them at 2:00 and exit. We will love them and provide fun activities for their arrival.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
My child has made friends here and I have as well. I have been with these parents and children for 2 years and they will be together through pre-K until kindergarten.

Parent #2
I don't recall what information is given at the end of each year, but feedback is given on a daily basis about my child. What he learned, what numbers and letters they worked on, if he napped or not and so on. Always impressed with the feedback; however, I wish they would give us copies of the songs the kids learn so we can sing with them at home.

Parent #3
I have been very pleased with the academic goals for both my 3 and 5 year old. I have also loved the 'extra' activities that my children receive including Spanish and Music. Overall, our experience has been wonderful.

Parent #4
This is a great pre-school/mother's day out. They have taught my children a little of everything such as, sign language, Spanish, numbers, letters, art, music, kindness, friendship and compassion. I have met many other mothers through the drop off/pick up process and become friends. In my opinion, CCC has gone above and beyond my expectations for a pre-school. A true job well done for the staff at CCC.

Parent #5
It is a mothers day out preschool, so there is not the formality of other schools. The level of education is just as high though.

Discipline, Health and Safety

Discipline

OVERALL RATING (4.3) Four Stars
Parents' Opinions
Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children: are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Overview

Director's Description of Approach Toward Discipline

Discipline is:
1. Individualized and consistent for each child.
2. Appropriate to the child's level of understanding &
3. Directed towards teaching the child the acceptable behavior and self control.
(We abide by the Texas Administrative Code of discipline, Title 40, Chapters 746 & 747, Subchapters L, Discipline and Guidance)

Director's Response to a Sample Discipline Scenario

Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'

We would lead them in their conversation by showing them the proper way to talk to their friends. We would lead them by teaching them that they are all friends and can play together.

Parents' Notes on Discipline, Health and Safety

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
My child loves his school. The walls and classes are painted so cute! It is a very inviting atmosphere and you can tell the children are so loved and taken care of.

Parent #2
On some occassions, kids who are having a melt-down have to leave the room and sit with the coordinator at her desk (sigh, this has even been my child before). I love this because it removes the child from the situation that has caused grief and allows him or her to calm down and assess the situation and talk about it before re-entering the room. They also use the 'time out' method as well as talking to the kids and helping them learn empathy.

Parent #3
I have not witnessed the handling of conflicts between children, but knowing the staff at CCC, I am certain they are handled fairly. I am not sure about all the classroom equipment that is used or available. The rooms are kept tidy and uncluttered.

Parent #4
I don't know if they leaqve the classroom or not, but they do have music time and Spanish class.
