Dropoff Procedure

- 6:30 AM is the earliest time a parent can drop off a child

Late Pickup Policy: "KRK expects parents to respect and abide by our hours of operation. We recoginize that it is not always possible to predict work schedules or traffic. If it is not possible to pick up your child by 6:30 pm we ask that you call us no later than 6:00 pm so we can tell your child when to expect you so they do not worry. If you have called by 6:00 pm there will be a $10 charge for the first 5 minutes and $1 each minute thereafter. If there is no phone call a charge of $25.00 for the first 5 minutes will be assessed." -- Excerpted from school website

Features of the Preschool

Provide a third year Yes
• "Preschool children are beginning to prepare for the elementary school years. As professionals, the teachers at Kids ‘R’ Kids provide a structured learning environment so each child will have a strong foundation. Because preschoolers like to learn new information and have the desire to master new tasks, much of what your child learns will be through self-directed experiences. Throughout the day children will have the opportunity to explore the classroom’s learning centers: Blocks & Building Design, Dramatic Play, Library & Literature, Math & Table Activities, Music & Movement, Sand & Water, Science & Discovery, and Writing Exploration. Learning through play, in these clearly defined areas of interest, promotes independence, fosters decision-making, and encourages hands-on involvement. Each learning center engages the child’s core components of development: social-emotional, language, cognitive, physical and aesthetic. Kids ‘R’ Kids recognizes the importance of combining a well-designed curriculum with age appropriate learning centers and understands how these two classroom components contribute to each child’s development." -- Excerpted from school website

School Philosophy & Day in the Life

School Philosophy and Mission

"Our foundation is built around developing partnerships between parents and teachers. Your family deserves a place as dedicated and committed to the development and well-being of your child as you are. Savvy Source's Comments

"Our theme based, age appropriate curriculum in combination with our uniquely designed learning centers enable your child to master 'Core Components' needed for early development. The Kids ‘R’ Kids curriculum provides teachers with themes and sample lesson plans. According to NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), a child has five core components of development: socio-emotional, language, cognitive, physical, and aesthetic. "Kids ‘R’ Kids offers a core curriculum comprised of weekly units that support and extend monthly themes. Each unit is filled with activities designed to meet the needs of all types of learners. Daily group times and enrichments are designed to expand a child’s vocabulary and knowledge of the world around them. Various activities at each learning station support the theme based lesson. Kids ‘R’ Kids also enriches its curriculum through music, which is professionally written and recorded to reinforce concepts. In addition to the core units, supplemental units are provided on a quarterly basis. Weekly lesson plans are posted to keep parents informed about their child’s learning experience at Kids ‘R’ Kids. "Because preschoolers like to learn new information and have the desire to master new tasks, much of what your child learns will be through self-directed experiences. Kids ‘R’ Kids recognizes the importance of combining a well-designed curriculum with age appropriate learning centers and understands how these two classroom components contribute to each child’s development. "Our outdoor activities are planned to help extend learning to the outside classroom. Just as small muscle coordination is strengthened through puzzles, painting, and cutting, large muscle coordination is developed through outdoor play. Learning cooperation and team building through games and planned activities helps the preschool child understand effective physical and emotional management with his peers. Of course, sometimes just swinging and sliding are all children need to do and we take care of that with our state-of-the-art and age appropriate playground equipment." -- Excerpted from school website

Savvy Source's Comments

"Daily sheets are provided to parents outlining the events of the day. Parents are called daily regarding any injury, bites, or unusual behavior by a child. When checking a child in or out via the Checkpoint workstations, daily messages pop up for the individual. A weekly lesson plan is posted in each classroom on the parents information board. A monthly calendar is generated to outline the activities of the school. A monthly letter is published and distributed via email and copies are available at the front desk. A progress report is completed every 6 months. Parents are encouraged to consult with the staff whenever any problem arises. Telephone and on-site conferences may be scheduled through the office or with the teacher directly." -- Excerpted from school website
