School Philosophy & Day in the Life

School Philosophy and Mission

The Early years of a child's life are the most important for developmental growth. Research shows that the emotional, physical and intellectual environments during a child's first 5 years have a major impact on how his/her brain develops. The experiences children have with parents and teachers affect their success and well being in school and throughout their life.

La Jolla Preschool Academy fosters this growth by providing a safe and stimulating environment. We promote development of the "whole child"-socially, emotionally, intellectually, creatively and physically.

Our programs are based on the assumption that growth is a sequential and orderly process. We believe children pass through stages of development which occur in predictable sequences. It is our responsibility to assist the child in attaining his or her fullest potential by recognizing each stage of development and fashioning a curriculum that will nurture and facilitate growth during each stage. Our classrooms are filled with wonderful hands-on learning opportunities.

At La Jolla Preschool Academy, learning is fun and our emphasis is on developing a strong self-esteem.
