Central Montessori School to me and my husband is like a family. We always know our children are in good hands when they are at school. The owner is very caring and loving person. The entire staffs are very approachable and loving to our children too. The schedule is so perfect and well prepared to get our children ready for first grade.
I Highly do recommend this school to other Parents!

School has exceeded all of our expectations! The school is a living testament to the philosophy of Maria Montessori: creating an environment that allows each child to maximize his or her own potential. The curriculum is wonderful. In seeing our Son's development over the past 2 years, we have no doubts about this approach. Central Montessori School in Encinitas to us is like family. We always know our children are in good hands when they are at school. The owner is very caring and loving person. The entire staffs are very approachable and loving to our children too. Most of all they love their jobs and it shows. The schedule is so perfect and well prepared to get our children ready for elementary.
We can't Thank the owner and the entire staff enough for all the time that they are investing in our children to make them what they are today and what they will be in the future.
THANK YOU!

This school will make you pay the following June's tuition, if for whatever reason you quit, then you'll never get that money back.

CMS is a wonderful & safe school which allows children to develop at his/her own pace. The environment is clean & organized. The administration is friendly & accommodating.

I feel that there should be more stimulating material in the classrooms. They need a larger book supply of quality books which kids can access at any time (not on a high shelf for the teachers only). Their educational and play material and classroom material seems very sparse. They don't purcahse new materials--I would liek to see new materials in the rooms every 2-3 months. The playground area should include swings Would like to see more field trips and parent involvement. Strengths--the teachers are wonderful, and very loving. I wish the administration would find positive ways to give them incentives to stay for the long term.

School Philosophy & Day in the Life
School Philosophy and Mission
Montessori is a philosophy of education developed by Dr. Maria Montessori that directs the child to love to learn, foster independence using the methodology she invented to direct children to become citizens of the world. It recognizes that children learn best in an environment of mutual respect and calm which allows each child to learn at their own pace. The specially designed materials are used to enhance the various stages of development
Montessori is an educational approach that supports the individuals in their journey to achieve their personal potential by creating environments and communities that offer freedom of choice within limits and that develop respect, responsibility and resourcefulness.
Dr. Montessori developed a philosophy and a curriculum to enable each child to think and act for themselves and for the betterment of others.
Based on the scientific research of Dr. Maria Montessori, the Montessori method is a student directed holistic approach to education, centred around experiential learning, with the goal to help the child find his or her place in the Universe.

My son's teacher is absolutely the BEST! Super patient, even keeled, thorough and very caring. Quality is awesome! As part of the curriculum, the kids have yoga, cooking, and spanish. We've had our son at a handful of preschools and this is the best match for him so far. And we're probably going to keep him there for Kindergarten since we are so pleased with the teachers and the school. My younger daughter loves it too and if she had control over her schedule, she would go every day!

Teachers are excellent in the 2.5-3.5 year old classroom. They are very patient, loving towards the children. My daughter just loves her teachers. There is one Montessori trained teacher who is there from 8.30-noon. Montessori time is between 8.30-9.30am, so parents should bring their kids by this time if they want their child to get Montessori educated. She works with the children in small grops, while the rest do some art activity (e.g. painting, playdough). The other teachers are not Montessori trained, but are very caring and attentive of the children's needs. There is a Spanish teacher once a week from 9-9.30am. Circle time is later in the morning, where the Montessori teacher will read a fun book.I would like to see more science projects, or gardening activities but many children are too young to pay attention, so it happens infrequently--this may be better in the older classrooms.

Money money money. Stuff as many kids in for as much money as possible. That is my thought on this school.
Parent #4
This teacher was so good and we loved her. But she was not there any more.

I removed my son from this school due to many documented and unexplained injuries. He was also allowed to misbehave in an extraordinary fashion and play out of control when I was not present. He was not punished for said behavior and I was not informed until he was quite injured and I removed him at a cost of the last month's tuition (we still had one month paid in full we missed). No separation anxiety assistance. I abbreviated his schedule at my expense.

Parents' Comments
Parent #1
I would wholeheartedly recommend Central Montessori. From trying a developmental/pure play school, to a few in between on the continuum, this is by far the best fit for him.
Parent #2
I would like more natural lighting in the classrooms. Also, many children have runny noses, coughs, yet they are still in the class.Parents work and continue to drop off their kids (unless they have fever, diarrhea or a rash). As a result, my child frequently gets colds requiring me to take time off work to care for her. Not ideal. The Principal is usally not present in the mornings. She is occasionally present in the afternoons. She tends to avoid conflicts and underplays them. Discipline problems that have come up has required me to talk directly to the principal and demand that something be rectified. Subsequently, action was taken to my satisfaction, but the principal should be more visible and procative about her school.
