"Welcome
School begins at 9:15.
Free choice
Children select their own activities and can play in either of two rooms.
Options include block play, dress-up, puzzles, manipulatives, painting, drawing,
reading, and imaginary play. At the end of free choice, we clean up together.
Book time
Children choose books to look at together or independently, as we transition
into the next phase of our day.
Circle time
We sing, read poetry, engage in quantitative activities or language activities,
play games, and have lively discussions.
Snack
The children socialize while having something light to eat.
Project
Our art project for the day might involve painting, collage, printing, drawing,
or sculpture.
Story time
We gather on the rug to read as a group.
"Truck room"
Children engage in large-muscle play in a sunny indoor space, using balls,
riding toys, balance beams, and large building blocks.
Outdoor play
We run around our large grassy field and play on climbers.
Good-bye
At noon, children are picked up by parents and caregivers at our outdoor play
area, weather permitting.
