School Philosophy & Day in the Life

School Philosophy and Mission

This program offters theme-based age appropriate curriculum for children ages 18 months through four years old. An important part of the Bethany Lutheran Preschool curriculum is weekly Chapel. Chapel is led by Bethany's pastors every Wednesday at 9:15am and Thursday at 9:30am.

Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School

Children are grouped in classes by ages. Each week a different theme is followed in the classroom for example; Tools & Machines, Dinosaurs/Reptiles, Insects/Spiders, or Zoo Animals maybe the theme for the week. Chapel themes are also followed each week. We post the different themes on our web site: www.blcms.org.

This school is a nice blend of teacher-led activities (including curriculum, art, stories, music, and chapel) and free play. The younger kids do more playing, the older ones ease into more structured learning.

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
Because this is primarily a mothers-day-out program, except for the 4 year olds, a lack of parent cohesiveness isn't really an issue. That said, many parents form friendships in this school and participate in activities outside of school.
