Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Our daughter has been in this school for 3 years and she loves it. All of the classes she has been in have been awesome and the teachers are amazing. This school is not big and flashy, but it is really all about the kids and their development prior to kindergarten, which is what is most important. The school director is always there to answer a question or give advice. Our daughter has really grown and benefited from her time at Abiding Love and we would do it all over again!!!
Parent #2
I liked this school for my son...the teachers were great and they didn't ignore the kids the next year when they move to the next class.

I am very pleased with Abiding Love. My son is in the 2 year old classroom, and the teachers are all very attentive. The turnover for teachers is very low (I think my son's 2 teachers have been at A.L. for 10-15 years!). The facilities are a little old, and the classrooms are small, but the playgrounds are great-- expansive and under large trees, and the kids spend alot of time outside. I'm not sure how much "learning" goes on, but my son is there for socialization. Very happy overall.
Parent #5
Not much parent community for the Mother's Day Out part time program. The teachers are great for the under 1-2 yo class.
Parent #6
They don't do any academics. The teachers are nice but the director is horrible. I think they got a new one this year- thank goodness. My child behaved, but there was one that had some 'issues' and he was practically locked up in the directors office the entire time. It was not expensive and so I sent my child there simplly for entertainment so he wasn't bored at home. I don't recomend this school for anything other than that.

Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Abiding Love is more of a child care center. But, the pre-school class (4-5 yr olds) really prepares them for kindergarten.
Parent #2
My son was not in preschool, but in the infant daycare at this facility. We were overall pleased with everything.
Parent #3
I don't know that they 'welcomed' us to come into the school at anytime, but I did it anyways.
Parent #4
This is a part time mother's day out.

Overview
Director's Description of Approach Toward Discipline
Children respond best to positive guidance, consistent rules, and reinforcement of appropriate behavior. We do this by telling children what we want them to do (instead of what not to do), giving choices, and using logical consequences to actions. Children are also encouraged to solve their own problems, instead of having an adult do it for them. These guidance techniques help young children become independent.
Director's Response to a Sample Discipline Scenario
Description of how teachers handle the following scenario: Child A and Child B are good friends and usually play together. One day, Child A decides to play with Child C and tells Child B, 'I don't want to play with you today. I'm playing with Child C instead.'
Typically they would encorage Child A and Child C to invite child b into their play. Also encourage child B a different friend to play with that day. Assure children that we are all friends and use kind words even if we play with different children.
Parents' Notes on Discipline, Health and Safety
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Well the equipment is all older and the building is older, but that doesn't bother me as I know it would some parents. It is well maintained and there is nothing harmful about it, its just older. They do get new toys and books on a regular basis though.
Parent #2
I guess I should try to avoid giving "excellent" ratings to all the survey questions so it doesn't sound biased, but I have nothing but good things to say about this school and their facility.

Advice from Parents to Prospective Parents on Admissions

There is plenty of room. We enrolled in October. I would have prefered any other school, but this one has openings at anytime.
