School Philosophy & Day in the Life

School Philosophy and Mission

We believe that children learn and grow in a safe, nurturing, and organized environment.Children develop into confident, productive adults when provided with a loving, positive foundation during their formative years. We believe clear, consistent limits develops trust between child and adult, and in turn develops a child's self-esteem. The Close To Home staff is trained in this philosophy, and we encourage our families to share our philosophy at home.

Savvy Source's Comments

We focus on the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of our children. We plan our learning experiences using The Reggio Emilia Philosophy. Simply, we draw our ideas from the children. Then we plan math, art, science and language activities pertaining to their interests. Our units of study are longterm to allow children to absorb and retain information. A well-rounded curriculum is essential at Close To Home.
