School Philosophy & Day in the Life

School Philosophy and Mission

We believe that every child learns through play. Through play, children learn about the world around them, and where their place in the world might be. They learn through stories, songs, block building and dramatic play. They experience their senses through art, science, cooking, gardening, and so much more. Children learn to socialize with others when given the opportunity to interact on a regular basis with other children of similar ages.

At Play Time Learning, our daily curriculum gives children both the guidance and the freedom to play, learn, and grow in ways that are meaningful and important to them.

Our experienced teachers nurture childrenâ??s natural curiosity and wonder within a safe, home-like environment that allows them to explore and discover the world around them.

Come Play With Us!
Thereâ??s no time like the present to introduce your child to the wonderful world of constructive play. Enrich your child with an experience sure to last a lifetime. The right first start will pave the way for their future. Come play with us today!

Quality of Teaching

Director's Comments on Individualized Teaching

Individualized Teaching

Description of how teachers work with children who are
"behind," "excelling" or "different" from the majority of students

Each child is treated like an individual with their own capabilities. Our teachers teach each child at their level and bring them as far as they can go.

Home School Connection

Director's Comments

We believe in personal communication between school and families. Parents are always welcome in our classroom.

Separation

Beginning of the year separation is handled through:
- Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
- Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
- Parents in classroom early on

Director's and Parents' Comments

Discipline, Health and Safety

Overview

Director's Description of Approach Toward Discipline

We believe in re-directing and working with the children. Children come to preschool to learn how to socialize in the outside world. It is the job of our preschool teachers to work with them in giving them the best words and actions to achieve their socialization goals.

Food Allergies

- We do not allow certain foods in the classroom

- We ask parents to provide child-safe snacks for their allergic child

Medications

- each case varies
