School Philosophy & Day in the Life
School Philosophy and Mission
Kristina's Little Angels teaches children through natural play. Our staff observes the children's interactions and encourages them to ask questions and explore where their interests lie.
Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School
Children enter the daycare and are greeted by the director. They sit and have breakfast together, as a group. It provides them with peer interaction, as well as establishing table manners. Circle time brings about discussions about typical topics such as weather, days of the week, colors, numbers, and shapes. It includes fingerplay songs, and a chance for each child to be heard.
Outside time is a large part of the day, where the children have the opportunity to "go back in time" and dig for worms, mix water into the sandbox, climb a tree, and have a race with their friend. A hot and home made lunch, and then a period of rest rounds out the afternoon. After nap, the children have free time, story time, centers, music, or art.

Director's Comments
A successful program uses a triangle which connects the parent, the child, and the teacher. We strive to keep that triangle strong, and encourage the parents to question their child's learning abilities. Our staff discusses each childs personal successes and encourages parents when a child may need outside sources. The staff attends 30+ hours of continuing education to keep informed with the current needs and philosophys of early education.

| Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children:
are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Overview
Director's Description of Approach Toward Discipline
Children are taught to respect their peers and teachers. They are reminded what type of behavior is expected. If the inapproprate behavior continues, the child is brought to a quiet area of the room, and needs to rest for a few moments. They are then reminded WHY they were removed, appropriate behavor is repeated, and the child is then welcomed back into the group.
