Parents' Comments
Parent #1
The Goddard School provided an outstanding preschool education for my daughter. The teachers were warm and caring and they were concerned about the needs of each and every child. The learning activities were both fun and educational. Several times during the year, outside sources (petting zoo, piano instructor, etc) were brought into the school to provide additional learning experiences. I felt that my daughter was fully prepared for Kindergarten and she ended up being one of the best readers in her Kindergarten class, thanks to the education she received from the Goddard School.

Parent #2
Teachers are great and know how to work with children this age. I can tell they really want to be there and care about our two kids. I like the thought given to safety - fingerprint required to unlock door, security cameras, finger guards on doors. Owners are always around and have their own children in the school.

Parent #3
Loving environment, very professional, wish I could be as wonderful with my children as they are!

Parent #4
The curriculum is hands on and more in-tune to the children's needs. The facility is VERY clean and the owners are always on the premises. Great center!

Parent #5
My 18 month old daughter attends this school. She loves it and we love it. The staff knows who your child is and they are always updating us on her behavior and learning.

Parent #6
Very caring teachers & well trained. Goddard caught my attention as they have no Tx lisencing citations. The owner is very involved and at the school every day. Both my kids love going to school and have experienced a balanced learning environment. I like the fact I can provide lunch for my kids - they eat much better and I know its healthy.

Typical Day-In-The-Life At This School

Why do children at The Goddard School® look like they're having so much fun? Because play is the foundation for learning and Goddard Schools take play very seriously.

Goddard School teachers promote play by creating theme-based lesson plans to meet the individual needs of the children in their classrooms. They introduce developmentally appropriate materials and activities in Learning Centers. These Centers are hands-on areas and include music, science, math, creative art, writing, computers and dramatic play.

Director's Comments

Learning Centers: * Provide time for children to explore their feelings and use their imaginations. * Encourage children to investigate their surroundings, solve problems and think independently. * Support each child's freedom to move from center to center and learn at their own pace. * Allow teachers to observe activities, assess children's development and create portfolios. Children are encouraged to: * Explore a variety of materials through play. * Make choices among several options according to their interests. * Socialize with their friends. * Use objects to represent something else (a toy banana becomes a phone) which sets the stage for abstract thinking - the type of thinking that is essential to learning to read and write.

Goddard School teachers integrate various enrichment programs* into their lesson plans in order to enhance the learning experience every day. This aspect of the program is a particularly unique feature because enrichment programs are included in the tuition.

Director's Comments on Individualized Teaching

Individualized Teaching

Description of how teachers work with children who are
"behind," "excelling" or "different" from the majority of students

At The Goddard School®, we think the best academic preparation is to encourage your child's enthusiasm for learning. Teachers who have a keen interest in your child's success create lesson plans based on Goddard Developmental Guidelines and monthly themes. By providing individual attention in a small group setting, Goddard teachers nurture each child's confidence. Learning to ask questions, discovering cause and effect, negotiating fair play and making new friends are all academic building blocks at Goddard.
