Director's Comments

Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
Our curriculum is teacher guided and child guided. Your child will learn from a credentialed master teacher. We have a music director and a dance director who will teach your child through the Arts. We provide two snacks and a hot lunch. All this is included in the tuition. Your childs education is in our hands, and we are good at what we do. Come tour our facility.

Parents' Comments

I am THRILLED to have found Johnson Preschool Performing Arts Academy (JPPAA) & to have my son going there! He really looks forward to going to school & now calls it his "Singing School," (probably because, in part, they use professional musicians & dancers as teachers.) My son learned so much in 1 ½ weeks: spelling & writing his name, knows more songs (& tries to “remake” them on his guitar), recognizes more words, has reinforced his counting skills, finds letters on the computer keyboard & more. Everybody at JPPAA cares about the kids (their success & their futures), & cares about the parents. Plus, they show nothing but love there. It's apparent that JPPAA has studied, learned & incorporated advanced teaching/learning techniques. I feel like I have a strong partner in my Little Guy's education (all for about the same price or lower of other schools). The passion & dedication of the director, main teacher, & all of the teachers & staff is fantastic.

School Philosophy & Day in the Life

School Philosophy and Mission

We are here to nurture, guide and respect all of our children and their families. We do this by listening, communication, observing and allowing the children and parents to be themselves. If we work along side the parent, we will bridge the gap between school and home. This will benefit the children, the family, and the staff. In order for our children to get the best possible start, we must start with the basic understanding that we must work together.

Parents' Opinions
Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children: are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Overview

Director's Description of Approach Toward Discipline

DISCIPLINE PLAN

If a student breaks a classroom rule, we want them to understand why we have rules, and to be held accountable for their actions. This is a skill that they will use for the rest of their lives.

1. The first time your child breaks any classroom rule, or playground rule a verbal prompt and a discussion with the child, and modeling of the correct/safe behavior will take place.

2. The second time your child breaks the same rule, a verbal prompt and a discussion with the child, and modeling of the correct/safe behavior will take place. The child will be removed from the area for refocus/safety reason if needed.

3. The third time your child breaks the same rule, a verbal prompt and a discussion with the child, and modeling of the correct/safe behavior will take place. The child will be removed from the area for refocus/safety reason if needed, and an Expectations Form will be completed.
