Director's Comments
Question to director: Do you have any additional thoughts on what parents should consider when looking at your school? Is there any advice that you would like to provide to prospective parents?
This is a cooperative preschool that requires parent involvement.
COOPERATIVE COMMITMENTS OF PVLCP PARENTS:
*Participate in Parent Orientation Night in August
*Be a helping parent in your child's classroom on a rotating basis
*Provide nutritious snacks for your child's class on a rotating basis
*Help in the classroom as needed for special events
*Serve on a parent committee for fundraisers or special events
*Attend and provide transportation to field trips
The above required commitments are what set our program apart from most others in the Round Rock community. PVLCP would not be the successful cooperative program that it is without the involvement of our families. The cooperative program provides channels for communication so that the skills of teaching and of parenting may be refined, and the support and operation of the school may be accomplished. We rely on every family to contribute its share in order that the school can offer the children a quality experience. Our program is geared toward families that desire to be involved in their child's preschool experience.
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
The people at this preschool are great. They all know my daugthers name and even know mine. Mrs. Kim is very professional and always lets me know how my daughter is doing. It's a great school with caring teachers and involved parents I love it!
Parent #2
This preschool is unique because it is a cooperative program. Parents who enjoy being active and involved in their child's education will love this school. Parents serve on the preschool board, assist with special events and help out in their child's class on a rotating basis. It is a great place to meet new people and develop lasting friendships. Children and parents alike will feel right at home with the loving and attentive nature of the staff. They are very experienced and truly love their work. They strive to create a safe, caring, and very hands-on learning environment. Preschool is so much more than preparing a child academically for kindergarten, it's about learning how to be a good friend, working successfully in a group, and learning through art, music and play. Palm Valley Lutheran Cooperative Preschool helps to create a well-rounded child ready for kindergarten.
Parent #3
The preschool is very loving, caring and fun! The cooperative aspect is the main reason we went there in the first place with my son many years ago. The teachers are very caring, organized and the school has a real "family feel" to it.
Parent #4
The teachers and staff are fantastic - they are loving, supportive and truly care about each and every student and the student's family. They also focus on play and having fun but do not shy away from teaching kids at an age-appropriate level.
Parent #5
This preschool is unique in the fact that it is a cooperative program. The parents are expected to be involved in the classroom. My children love when it is our turn to help out in the classroom and seem so proud to show us around and introduce us to their friends. The cooperative program also allows the parent to have a first hand view of what their child is experiencing during their preschool day. The environment is very loving and definitely centered around the children. Each teacher we have been involved with has disciplined differently (mostly redirection); some focus more on discipline than others but I have always been satisfied. My children have learned social skills as far as sharing, listening, and treating others nicely. My children have thrived at this preschool and have always been very happy. My oldest child attended this preschool for 3 years and when she entered Kindergarten she knew how to act, what was expected of her, and how to interact with her peers.

Director's Comments on Individualized Teaching
Parents' Comments
Parent #1
Each teacher has been different. I really like the more structured environment with teacher led curriculum---not all teachers have been this way yet my children have still learned and are happy. The art teacher is wonderful. She comes up with excellent and fun projects and works wonderfully with the children. The music teacher does a great job in getting the children excited about singing and dancing.
Parent #2
Every teacher we have had at Palm Valley has been wonderful.
Parent #3
My child's classroom teacher is very energetic and creative. When spending time in the classroom, I am always amazed by the unique and fun ways she teaches different concepts. The children love her! The music teacher truly loves her work and it shows. She always has a smile on her face! I love how she incorporates movement, instruments and concepts into the music class. The art teacher fully embraces creativity. You will never see a masterpiece identical to anyone elses. Be it painting with plungers, little cars or spray bottles, it's the creative process that's important to her.

The parents are encouraged to be as involved as they want to be. The preschool loves and appreciates parental help and involvement.
Parent #2
Palm Valley is a co-op therefore parents are required to help in the classroom 1 day every 7 - 10 weeks (depending on age level of the class). The co-op feature of the preschool allows parents an invaluable look into how their chiild is learning and socializing.
Drop-in Policy
