School Philosophy and Mission

'University Synagogue's Early Childhood Learning Center creates an exciting environment for creative play and learning. Our integrated learning environment is rich and inspiring for young learners and our age blended classes allow them to develop at their own pace. This developmental philosophy is integral to the design of our curriculum, which focuses on enhancing individual skills by utilizing art, building, cooking, movement, science, and social studies. The Early Childhood Learning Center provides a warm and nurturing environment in which each child's uniqueness is recognized and supported.' 'Throughout the year, an important part of our curriculum and community is the observation and celebration of the various Judaic and secular festivals and holidays.' -- Extracted from the University Synagogues's Early Childhood Center's website.

Parents' Opinions
Parents at this school, on average, believe that conflicts between children: are handled extraordinarily well in a way that not only gives me confidence in the safety of my child but also reassures me that my child (and his/her peers) are learning the early skills needed to socialize effectively with one another

Parents' Notes on Discipline, Health and Safety

Parents' Comments

Parent #1
The school is full of teachers who have taught for 10 years or more. There is no turnover at the school which shows what a great environment it is for the teachers and the children.

Parent #2
The school is well maintaned although the structure is old. There is great outside light in each classroom and the two large play yards are amazing.
