If/when you get tired of pushing the sled yourself, have your child put one of his toys or stuffed animals on the sled and take it for a ride!

For an outdoor version: I bought a parachute for my daughter and the neighborhood kids to play with. The most popular use has been parachute rides around the yard while the children lay on the parachute.

It might be 95 degrees outside, but with some imagination, you can pretend it's snowing and you're going on a sleigh ride! This is a great way to get some active time with your child...without having to layer on the sunscreen, or prepare for inclement weather. For added fun...offer your child a scarf or hat to wear to really set the mood! Pretend you are part of the Olympic sledding team! Just enjoy!
