"The center provides a safe, stable, comfortable environment for the children while their parents work or attend school. The children are encouraged to develop self-help skills, respect for others, an enjoyment of discovery and learning, creativity, and self-confidence. A cheerful, Christian atmosphere prevails in which the children say table prayers and learn some songs and stories with basic Christian themes. However, all children of the community are welcome. The Growing Place admits students of any race, national origin, or religion. Both private pay and publicly assisted clients are welcomed.
The children participate in a high quality educational program which includes organized activities (both indoors and outdoors), music, arts and crafts, nature study, stories and developmental activities in reading readiness and math readiness. Nutritious meals (breakfast, hot lunch and an afternoon snack) are included through the Child Care Food Program of USDA.
