Day in the Life

General School Mission

Loving Start provides well planned developementally appropriate activities, in a caring nurturing environment. We believe play is important to the way children learn. We encourage hands on learning, exploring, and experimenting. We want each child to develop a sense of wonder and excitement for learning. We see our program as child center and playl based.

A Typical Day

Our day includes
dramatic play blocks, building
story time circle time
art music
fine motor activities puzzles and games
computers science/nature activities
large motor time snack time

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We provide Open Houses, Orientation, weekly newsletters, parent-teacher conferences, and conversations at drop-off or pick-up.
We have several evening events, picnics, Christmas Family Sing Alongs, 2 Parent/Child activity nights, End of Year Program.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

As a small center we can work with you on seperation. We have had children who need blankies or comfort toys, pictures of parents, or having a parent stay with them for a few weeks.
