"Our philosophy is to begin with an environment that encourages, supports and reinforces positive behavior in children. If and when a child behaves inappropriately, we will use a number of methods to further encourage positive behavior. Depending on the individual child and situation we use a variety of methods. We use redirection, positive reinforcement, logical consequences and offering choices. We attempt to focus our energy on recognizing the positive behavior in all children, rewarding and giving them attention for it.
This, in turn, encourages positive behavior, increases the child's self-esteem, and sets a good example for others to follow. We encourage parents to share their methods with us so that we can all try to work together to form a consistent form of guidance between home and school. Consistency works the best with children!
