"The general philosophy of the cooperative preschool is that we all learn together - adults and children alike. Guided by two qualified, caring, and endlessly imaginative teachers, Co-op parents create an environment of learning and support for their children.
Our curriculum encourages our children to learn by exploring, imagining, and experiencing. Activities fit their interests and capabilities and encourage physical, intellectual and social-emotional growth.
The cooperative preschool serves parents too. Since parents play a hands-on roll in the co-op classroom, we get to know each other. In addition, parents may attend monthly Parent Education meetings where they discuss subjects related to parenthood and family living. These meetings provide the opportunity for parents to share with and learn from a supportive peer group.
As a cooperative, we work together to operate our school. Parents' basic responsibilities include policy making, fund-raising, facility maintenance, and classroom participation. For children and adults, the cooperative preschool offers a warm and nurturing learning environment - one of enjoyment and individual growth.
