The Montessori classroom provides stimulating projects that are carefully sequenced for success in a non-competitive atmosphere. Respect for each child and their individual progress is a cornerstone of the Montessori method.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Sunnyside Montessori, established in1984, provides a stimulating learning environment in an intimate home-like atmosphere. It has a landscaped playground with outdoor equipment surrounded by a small orchard of apple and pear trees. We are located in Columbia City overlooking Lake Washington and Genesee Park. The school serves a diverse group of families with varied interests and needs. It is our goal to maintain a representative mix of backgrounds which reflect the diverse character of our community.
