Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

All children in the classroom are considered respected memebers of the preschool community. We encourage children to do the best they can at all times. Curriculum can be adjusted to those who need extra help or are excelling in the class.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Fairwood Community United Methodist Church believes that a quality Christian preschool, built on the principle of God's love, developmentally appropriate practices and an anti-bias approach to curriculum prepares children to thirve in our very diverse world. Joyful Hearts is a welcoming place for all children of our community, including those of differing religions, ethnic and/or socio-economic backgrounds.

A Typical Day

Children engage in a variety of hands on meaningful activites each day. Children learn through a mix of child lead and teacher directed activities. Daily activities include but are not limited to self guided learning, group projects, learning games, cooking, and science exploration.

Separation

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Parents in classroom early on
