General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Our teachers are continually assessing the development and progress of our children. When needed they change or adapt their lessons plans or specific activities for children who might need more or less of a challenge.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Young children flourish in a safe environment that encourages active thinking and exploration. We provide an emtionally secure atmosphere in which children are loved and accepted unconditionally. We integrate the Bible and traditional Christian values into the daily experiences of the children in our care. We provide opportunities that stimulate each child's cognitive, physical, emtional and spiritual growth.

A Typical Day

For some our day starts at 6AM - with time to free play and explore the classroom. From 7-8AM more friends come and we have breakfast. By 9AM we are all in our age specific classrooms. From now till 11:30 we create art projects, read stories, learn about ourselves, the Bible and our friends. We love to play outside or in the gym and have a snack. At 11:30 some of our friends go home - those that stay eat lunch we brought from home. After lunch we all lay down for a time of resting. In the afternoon we have another yummy snack and then get to play again outside and with all our wonderful toys in our classrooms until our Moms or Dads come to pick us up.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

I send home bi-monthly newsletters that keeps parents informed of any special events or days coming up. Parents are encouraged to call or email us if they have any concerns, questions or problems so that we can schedule a meeting to make sure their child is getting the best education and care possible. Our Preschool and Pre-K programs have more parent/teacher meeting times, but it is available for all.

Separation

Handling Separation: From the Director

We can start out part time and work our way to more full time care if possible. We can also arrange for a couple of days for mom or dad to come in with their child for a few hours.
Our teachers are very sensitive to those children that are having a hard time adjusting.
