Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

From the Director:

Our school is a little different than other schools/preschools and daycares. We are owned by Ms Lussier and have been for the past 20 years. The thing about the corporate preschools, we feel, is the inability to move forward with the families in their care. This is our advantage. Elite Kids (staff, families & our owner), all have the same goals; to ensure the children are safe, happy, well cared for, & in a learning environment that is not stagnant, but ever changing. Most preschools have set guides from corporate, so regardless of the needs of the children, the staff are unable to change the materials to benefit the children. Ms Lussier allows us the freedom to constantly come together in meetings and make those changes. Along with our learning program, the staff are encouraged to think outside of the box, to work with the children's needs and expand the learning experience. Our school also offers classes in Music, Phonics and Sports. We have 5 fun and informative classes and we are always ready to add what is wanted! Elite Kids also offers a Parent’s Night Out, twice a month, for only $5 and the children have dinner, free play, planned activities and are taken care of by their teachers. Parents can even invite their friends to our PNO, so they socialize together. Elite Kids Learning Academy is an ever changing preschool and we grow with our children. The majority of our staff have been with the Kirkland school for many years. This school is our home, our community and more than just our work, it is our love. Ms Lussier always tells the staff, “this is not a paycheck to the children, it’s their life” and it is…. Staff L.H.K

From the Director:

Elite Kids Learning Academy's goals are simple ~ to provide the best care and the best environment for our Children. Our School is a place of wonder that provides the opportunity to question, to explore, to succeed, and to have fun. We supply a learning space to experience oneself in a relationship to others and to the environment. Elite Kids Learning Academy is a place of security and trust where Children can grow emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically at their own pace of development. Our School is a place where the individual is accepted, supported, and valued regardless of ethnic, economic and social similarities or differences. -------------------------- It is not always about the materials in class, sometimes it's about the heart. Children love to learn and they are eager too learn. Children love to do that which is creative. Children need to be with teachers who are loving, energetic and happy to be together.

Elite Kids provides many classes on different levels. We also understand there are those children that just need an extra hand, extra with specifics. Most of our teachers have been with us since we opened our school. Many of our teachers have their degrees. We all work as a team, as equals, sharing ideas, resources & all.

Handling Separation: From the Director

Each child is different, each age is different. We work very closely with our parents and children when beginning school or graduating to another classroom. There are times when children need more attention for whatever reason. We provide for the child, listen to the family, work in the community and take care of our children.
