Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Head Teacher is one the Eastside's treasures. 20+ years working with very young children in a variety of settings. Students in college now, still come to visit.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

The Village Schoolhouse believes that a small multi-age setting is ideal for very young children to learn and grow in. The school community is much like a family, where each person is treasured, empathy and cooperation are taught, and a rich learning environment brings out each child's potential.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Head Teacher very accessible by email. Monthly newsletters and parent coaching columns. Mom's night and Dad's night yearly.

Handling Separation: From the Director

Extra attention and specific strategies are employed by teacher. If the parent is trustful and calm, followed by a quick hug, smile, and exit. All will be well. Email or phone confirmation of child's calming is the norm if separation is difficult.
