Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Every child is unique and brings his or her own strengths and weaknesses to the classroom. As an educator, it is my job to understand how to best teach the curriculum in a manner that will engage each student based on his/her individual learning abilities. The hands-on activities and manipulatives at the centers will be open ended so that children at different levels will have a chance to practice a particular skill and succeed at what they're doing.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

One of the most important components of a child's education is the communication between the school and the family. We will send out weekly newsletters to notify the parents of any special dates/events, as well as the particular themes we are working on that week. Daily day sheets will be given to each child, summarizing briefly his/her day. Kindertown is very flexible with times and dates for parent conferences.

Separation

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions

Handling Separation: From the Director

We want every child to feel as comfortable as possible here at Kindertown. We will have a very open line of communication with parents and do whatever is necessary to make the transition easier on the kids.
