Day in the Life

General School Mission

Keshet was founded in 1980 for children ages 2-5. The school's goal is to increase our children's awareness of the world in which they live through a program that encourages social, emotional, educational and physical development. Keshet's warm, friendly and stimulating environmnet enables all of our children to feel comfortable, express themselves openly and become valued members of the school and our community.

A Typical Day

The school day begins at 9:15 am and ends at 1:15 pm. Children are greeted by a teacher and encouraged to join the other children in morning activities in their classroom. They then ahave the freedom to explore the various learning activities and terest centers that been prepared before their arrival. These centers change from week to week, day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. They include paint, clay, collage, musical instruments, wood construction, blocks, books, puzzles, dolls and special things for special days. A typical day always incudes playground time, story time, group activities, art, snack, lunch and enrichment activitites. Time to grow; time and room to explore, to experiement and to discover; time to play and time to be a child - these are the core values of Keshet.
