From the Director:

Much of our approach involves first introducing themes and new information through small or whole group activities, and then worked on over time in centers.

Our staff is trained to work with small groups and individuals in play-based curricular activities.

We prepare children for a life of learning through exploratory play and learning activities that harness their creativity and imagination. We follow the Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence, a nationally recognized curriculum.

We use both email and a paper newsletter that goes home in backpacks. We are working on a new website. Individual teachers communicate through both email, notes and formal/informal conferencing.
We do have an open house at the beginning of the year, as well as a parent orientation meeting. We are working on new and exciting ways to provide parent education and social events.

We treat many of these issues on a case-by-case basis because every child is unique. Separation issues can be developmental or situational, and many times parents have separation issues as well! So we must use discernment in each case.
