General Approach to Learning: Play-Based, Teacher-Led

From the Director:

Circle Time segments are teacher-led instruction. Free Play and Outside Play times are play-based, occasionally structured but more often left to the child's choice.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

The preschool years provide our children a great opportunity to prepare for elementary school. The intent of Little Tykes Preschool is to help your child grow, both socially and academically, through interaction with other children of similar age in a classroom setting. Music is widely used as a fun way to learn and enjoy ourselves. Academic goals include the recognition of numbers, colors, shapes, and letters, as well as letter sounds and sign language. Beginning reading skills will also be introduced. Daily crafts cover a variety of skills such as coloring, cutting, painting and pasting. Parents are kept informed via monthly newsletters as to what the children are learning so as to reinforce these things at home.
