Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Teacher-Led

From the Director:

This category does not exactly fit. We believe a child needs a program that addresses the child's interests and the developmental level. They require a curriculum that provides a balance of child-directed and teacher-directed activities-one which provides a diversity of experiences designed to initiate and nurture a love for learning ino our changing multicultural, multi-role world.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Fundamental to our program is the belief that children are unique indiviuals who need respect and care in a safe, nurturing environment. At Rainbow Station we strive to provide quality early childhhood education, and afterschool recreational programming that is concerned with all aspects of a child's growth and development: physical, motor, social, emotional, and cognitive.

A Typical Day

Each classroom's daily schedule set up, and activities differ. We believe all children need a carefully designed environment with a nurturing, homelike atmosphere-one that fosters acceptance and security and freedome from fear. An environment that respects each child's developmental, physical, racial, and ethnic differences. They also need a daily routine, which is consistent, orderly, and yet flexible enough to meet the changing needs of each child.
