Day in the Life

General School Mission

Westbury Baptist Weekday Programs are a ministry of Westbury Baptist Church providing a Christian environment in which young children grow and learn and are instilled with Christian principles such as love, sharing, and caring. The Weekday Programs shall be a constructive and contributing member of the body of Christ and to the growth of Westbury Baptist Church. The Philosophy of Westbury Baptist Weekday Programs is as follows: We believe: That each child in our program is an individual with a variety of interests, experiences, expectations, basic needs and physical and mental abilities. That basic skill development is considered essential in an informal educational learning envrionment; however, a variety of creative approaches to teaching and learning, including an integrated day, are suggested. Our Goals include: Assisting the child in developing gross and fine motor skills and developing good health habits. Assisting the child in mastering expressive and receptive language skills that are necessary for the development of problem solving and thinking abilities. Assisting the child in mastering interpersonal skills necessary for interacting effectively with peers and adults and skills necessary for achieving personal autonomy. Assisting the child in acquiring principles of love, of self and in understanding God's love.
