Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Parents are greeted personally by the teachers when dropping off and picking up their child. Weekly progress notes are provided online and in paper form specifying what the child has learned and suggestions for home. A daily checklist is sent home which includes a place for parent input and feedback. Each classroom has two web cameras where parents are able to view the classroom from home. Parent conferences are held twice a year. All children are assessed twice a year and progress reported to parents. The assessment includes a Family Report where parents tell the teachers what the child is able to do at home.

Handling Separation: From the Director

Parents are encouraged to separate quickly and reassure their child that they will be back. Teachers are available to comfort and redirect the child as long as it takes for the child to get comfortable in the classroom and bond with the teachers. Dutch doors with one way glass allow parents to view the child without being in the class. Parents are also able to view the child via the web cam.
