Shearith Israel preschool supports, stimulates, and guides children to engage in meaningful experiences that integrate their emotional, intellectual, social, physical, and Jewish development in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment. The school provides opportunities for children to observe and participate in Jewish customs, rituals, and holiday observances as they develop their identities. Shearith Israel preschool lays the foundation for its students' future academic successes.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Small group sessions
  • Parents in classroom early on
  • Abbreviated schedule at start of school year

Handling Separation: From the Director

Parents are encouraged to spend time in the classroom with their child. In toddler and two's classes, parents stay the first day for the entire session, second day for part of the session, third day not at all.
