Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

"We primarily use hands-on active learning with real and like-real objects. Its most important goal is to help the children become enthusiastic learners. This means encouraging children to be active and creative explorers who are not afraid to try out their ideas and to think their own thoughts. Our goal is to help children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive learners. We're teaching them how to learn, not just now, but all through their lives. We're allowing them to learn at their own pace and in the ways that are best for them. We're giving them good havits and attitudes, particularly a positive sense of themselves, which will make a difference throughout their lives." -- Excerpted from the school's parent handbook

Day in the Life

General School Mission

"We [believe] children's early experiences should be planned based on the best available knowledge of how children learn and grow.

"Learning requires active thinking and experimenting to find out how things work and to learn about the world we live in." -- Excerpted from the school's parent handbook

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

"Communication is the key to success in any partnership and we consider our relationship with [parents] a valuable partnership. Your child's teacher is always willing to share with you about your child's day and progress. Your teacher can share briefly with you everyday. [...] Your child's teacher is available for individual conferences upon request." -- Excerpted from the school's parent handbook
