From the Director:

We build our curriculum around themes. We use phonics to teach pre-reading skills. Children develop many skills through learning centers.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Learning is very individualized through learning centers, where teachers can work one-on-one with children.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

It is the philosphy of Creative Steps Academy that early childhood education should be a time of fun, warmth, caring, security, exploring, and discovery. We believe children are able to absorb and retain information from the time they are born. Our teachers strive to nurture and encourage these qualities in our children.

A Typical Day

Children can arrive as early as 6:30 a.m. Breakfast is served family style from 8:00- 9:00 a.m. At 9:00 a.m. class begins with circle time, songs, reviewing skills, and books. The morning also includes learning centers and outdoor play time. Lunch is followed by rest time. After rest is restroom, circle time, snack, playing outside, computers, and learning centers.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

Teachers let parents know the theme of the week, and they send parents a home activity.

Separation is Handled through:

  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation

Handling Separation: From the Director

The director tries to stay close to help where needed. We reassure children that parents will return. We encourage children to bring special items from home, like a teddy bear or blanket.
