Ascension Parents' Day Out is an extension of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Dallas. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. September through May. Our program offers a loving, caring, and safe environment for infants and children from 6 months to 4 years old. Using a Christian curriculum, we help children develop a compassionate spirit, grow spiritually, physically, and emotionally, and learn foundational academic concepts.

Ascension’s ”Garden of Hope," an on-site garden open to parishioners and community members, provides a thematic focus for our PDO program. With the help of experienced teachers, children explore the garden and use all their senses to learn about the wonder of God’s world.

From the Director:

We use a faith-based curriculum that allows children opportunities to grow spiritually, emotionally, and socially. Children are introduced to socialization away from parents in the loving environment of nurturing teachers.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Every child is uniquely created by God, and we do our best to get to know each child in order to tailor learning experiences to their individual needs.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Our mission is to help your child develop socially, spiritually, and academically in a loving, Christian environment.

A Typical Day

A typical day begins with free play in our carefully-designed learning centers. Later, we move to circle time with stories, a morning song, prayer, and bible verse. After a snack, we'll take a trip to the garden and learn about God's creation. We'll return for play in the centers or the outdoor playground. Lunch, a craft, and a recap of the day's lessons follow. *Daily schedule subject to change based on the dynamics of the class.
