From the Director:

At Nicholson Early Childhood Education Center, we use developmentally appropriate teaching methods that are based on the research in early childhood education. Our program goals for children include early literacy, math, concept development, social skills, and self-regulation. We promote development in all of these areas through open-ended experiences and hands-on learning activities. Above all else, we want our children to enjoy their time at preschool and develop positive associations with the concept of school. This is just the first step in their academic careers and our goal is to provide the foundations. Preschool is a place where children get to play, learn, make friends, and get ready for kindergarten!

From the Director:

We utilize an emergent curriculum to respond to children's unique learning needs. Our lesson plans start with a concept and grow from there. Our teachers begin with the children's interests and then create their learning plans by designing activities that tie the concept to our learing goals.
