Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

WCC Curriculum: At WCC we provide different avenues of learning for all of our children. Children under 12 months are primarily involved in manipulative play. They are also introduced to music, dance, and the outdoors, when possible. Daily activities for the children over 12 months include center time, art, music and dance, as well as many outdoor activities. For the children over 12 months we offer a theme-based curriculum prepared each month, while daily activities evolve from the children and their interests for the day. Here at WCC we have an open door policy encouraging parents to visit at appropriate times and participate in the curriculum, if time permits. Suggestions are always welcome!

Day in the Life

General School Mission

WCC Philosophy:
WCC is a small center designed to specifically meet the needs of children under the age of four. We provide our children with the love and attention needed to feel safe and secure in such a big world. It is our philosophy to focus on the needs of the individual, rather than the status quo. It is our belief that a childcare facility should be an extension of each child’s family. WCC teachers and parents are encouraged to work together to provide the love and support needed as your child reaches developmental milestones.
