From the Director:

The children at St. Matthew's learn through experimentation with a wide variety of materials and through directed instruction by the teacher. Concepts are taught through a thematic approach with topics taken primarily from science and social studies. Language development and math concepts are included in every area of the program. Outdoor play, rhythm activities and movement are also important parts of our curriculum. All classes are offered 9:00 am to noon with the exception of kindergarten which lets out at 1:30pm.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

The program at St. Matthew’s School promotes the child’s total physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual development. We encourage in each child a love of God as we know God in Jesus Christ, a positive view of self, creative self-expression, an attitude of cooperation and sharing, and an expanding knowledge of the world in which we live.

An education at St. Matthew’s Episcopal school begins a lifelong journey that includes the intellectual, spiritual, physical, social, and emotional development of the individual.
