Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Teacher-Led

From the Director:

Reading Friends offers a structured approach to learning without sacrificing fun for the child. Our curriculum has been proven over the past 29 years and has earned us the reputation as "the premier academic preschool" in the area.

Quality of Teaching

Individualized Teaching: From the Director

Reading Friends offers individualized assessments in the fall and spring to ensure each child is on target. If a child needs additional help, we will work with that child one-on-one, and in conjunction with his/her parents, to ensure they continue to grow and learn at an appropriate age level.

Day in the Life

General School Mission

Reading Friends offers a multi-sensory approach to learning with a focus on the individual needs of the child. Our college-degreed teachers use the Reading Friends' proprietary curriculum, coupled with warm and nurturing care. In 2008-2009, Reading Friends was the only preschool to have 100% of their students, who applied to private schools, accepted.

A Typical Day

A typical schedule at Reading Friends includes:
* Language/Music
* Math/Art
* Discovery (Social Studies & Science)
* Gross Motor
* Recess (Social Interaction)

Each class is taught by a teacher who specializes in their subject.
