Philosophy & Approach

School Philosophy

General Approach to Learning: Play-Based

From the Director:

The NMagic Sparks Currculum combines the best of all of the above and no year is just like the year before. We use many aspects of the High Scope Curriculum and Creative Curriculum as well. It is a very balanced and child-centered approach steeped in research but every child, teacher and family is different so our experienced teachers, staff and families work together to develop a curriculum that meets our current students needs, interests and motivation.

Handling Separation: From the Director

We work our magic to help children feel safe and secure. Each situation is different. Sometimes we call children in the morning asking for something special or for help with a task. We often hold and reassure children that mommy or daddy always come back. We counsel parents and encourage parents to " Kiss, Me, Hug Me, Tell me that you LOVE ME"! and go with a promise to check in or giving the option to call. Every situation resolves itself happily.
