"Philosophy Charleston AFB Child Development Program, located in building 1950, is a nationally accredited program certified by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) offers top quality developmental child care services for the base's youngest members.
The CDC strives to provide a safe and nurturing environment while promoting the physical, emotional and intellectual development of young children.
Care offered includes developmental and educational care for older infants, toddlers and preschool children ranging in age from 6 months to 5 years.
Child Development programs are available for dependents of active duty military, Department of Defense Civilians and Non-Appropriated Fund Civilian Employees, on a first come, first serve basis.
It is our belief that children deserve an environment that provides for optimum growth for each individual child. We believe that each child deserves respect, emotional security and a safe loving atmosphere which contributes to their over all happiness. We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of child development using age appropriate activities and current knowledge as supported by research and the leaders of early childhood education.
Children of all active duty military & civilians assigned to or supported by Charleston AFB have priority consideration for placement. Parents may register their children for care at the CDC, Youth Program or Family Child Care by using DD Form 2606* (Department of Defense Child Development Program Request for Care Record).
