From the Director:

Bright Ideas incorporates the RI Dept of Edc Early Learning Standards with its own academic expectation. Children learn through play, through experimentation and through meaningfulexperiences. Isolated skill work or dittos have no place in our program.

From the Director:

We may learn about states by learning our baseball teams...learn about propulsion buy sending balloons across a wire, learn about weather by creating a hurricane tube etc. We learn by doing.

Many of our teachers have been at Bright Ideas since we opened. They are warm, creative and passionate about education. Each child learns at their own pace in whatever style maximizes their experience.

A Typical Day

The children have a perfect mix of teacher directed activities and free choice. There is outside time everyday...even in the snow.

Home-School Connection

Home-School Connection: From the Director

We have an emergency notification system, a monthly email newsletter, open house, family nights and much more. Teachers meet with each parent twice a year or more frequently if necessary. Daily updates on the lessons, goals and standards addressed are available for every parent.


Separation is Handled through:

  • Pre-entry meetings with parents at school
  • Extra staff dedicated to handle separation
