"The mission of Saint Agnes School is to teach Christ's message in a faith-shared community through worship of God and service to His people. The message of Christ gives each of us a share in the vision of God, the world, and ourselves. Saint Agnes Elementary School opens its doors daily to provide a nurturing, affirming environment for students, pre-kindergarten through grade 8.
St. Agnes School is a model of Christian community in which students experience reverence for each person. By working and collaborating together the pastor, priests, faculty, and parents create an atmosphere of faith and mutual support in which students can grow, and themselves, become builders of community. This experience of Christian community leads naturally then to service. Parents, therefore, are asked to work with the school to accomplish these goals:
AT HOME –
Worship with your children at Sunday Mass, encourage the practice of prayer in the home and the frequent reception of the Sacraments.
Discuss the content of Religion lessons with your children
Provide opportunities for your children to be of service to others.
IN SCHOOL –
Encourage children to treat all persons with respect and reverence.
Attend school meetings and support teachers.
Become a model of service by volunteer work within the school.
IN THE PARISH –
Participate in parish liturgical celebrations and extracurricular parish and community activities.
Encourage children to utilize opportunities for service within the school and parish community.
Finally, the teachers of St. Agnes School recognize the role of the parents as the primary educators and share with them the responsibility for growth and development of the child. Together we strive to maintain on-going communication and mutual support in order to create a setting which will foster the academic and personal development of the whole child.
